Project 52- Fantasy

I am so excited about this week's theme...FANTASY!!!  This theme literally has endless opportunities.  While I do not consider myself to be the most creative person ever, I do enjoy opportunities that push my creativity.  I think that is why I am so drawn to photography.  Google's definition of fantasy is "the faculty or activity of imagining things, especially things that are impossible or improbable."  That definition is what helped guide me in the direction I went with in this image.

I wanted to hit fantasy from two different perspectives.  From my photographer's perspective, I have always been amazed by and curious about composites.  My Photoshop skills are limited, so the thought of doing a composite myself has always been a far reaching, next to impossible goal.  It would certainly would have fallen into the category of improbable, that is, until I started participating in this blog circle.  I figured this was my opportunity to try something I would not have done on my own.

From a personal perspective, I thought it would be cool to take Zoey on an adventure that we will likely never get to do.  I came across this landscape image by an incredibly talented photographer named Luca Bravo.  He took this stunning image of Lake Braies in South Tyrol, Italy and I knew instantly that this is where I wanted to "take" Zoey.

Without further ado, here is my fantasy image...

With such a stunning landscape, I knew I needed to do something to make Zoey stand out.  I went for an "off camera flash" effect on her and darkened the rest of the landscape.  I hope you enjoyed my take on "fantasy"!  Next up, see what Tim Evans Photography, photographing people and their pets throughout south Mississippi did with this week's theme!  Thanks for stopping by!
